According to Anindita, when we talk about health, we used to think of it solely in terms of the body. In this comprehensive concept of health, physical health is just the starting point, followed by mental and social well-being. It's the harmonious interplay of all these aspects that defines overall health. We've always prioritised physical health, but increasingly, we're recognising the significance of mental health. Mental health is not just about thoughts or worries; everyone experiences them. However, it becomes a matter of concern when these thoughts start affecting one's normal daily life. The progression of mental health issues often begins with observable behavioural changes. This transformation can be slow and subtle, yet, in many cases, it eventually leads to serious conditions. Environmental factors can contribute significantly to the development of mental health problems. Childhood experiences can cast a long shadow on one's mental health, affecting behaviour and sometimes even leading to self-destructive tendencies. Among the most vulnerable are children, and it's alarming to see an increase in self-harming tendencies and suicide rates among them. In these circumstances, parents have a critical role to play in shaping their children's mental health.
