The much-anticipated commercial film for Tollywood, starring Nusrat Jahan and Yash Dasgupta, initially titled 'Mentaaal,' has undergone a name change just two days before its release. The film is now aptly named 'Sentimentaaal.' But why the sudden change?
Nusrat shared an animated poster on social media, announcing the shift from #Mentaaal to #Sentimentaal, emphasising that despite the name change, the essence of the film remains unchanged. The decision to alter the title was attributed to objections from the censor board regarding the original name.
According to Abhishek Majumdar, the manager and producer of the film, the last-minute modification was necessary due to concerns raised by the censor board. This quick decision reflects the dedication of the team to ensure a smooth release for the film on January 19.
Under the banner of 'YD Films,' the production house founded by Yash and Nusrat, the movie is directed by Baba Yadav.
'Sentimentaaal' is set against the backdrop of Raghunathpur, unravelling the story of Rudrani Chatterjee, played by Nusrat, who finds herself entangled in multiple legal complications with her brothers.
The plot revolves around Rudrani and her siblings, all embroiled in unlawful activities. Yash Dasgupta portrays an upright police officer caught in a complex situation when he encounters Rudrani. The trailer teases intense scenes, including a gripping moment where the police officer confronts both the law and his feelings for Rudrani.
Adding to the intrigue, veteran actor Madan Mitra makes a cameo appearance, playing the role of a senior officer working with Yash Dasgupta's character.
Despite the last-minute alterations, 'Sentimentaaal' promises to be an engaging drama filled with suspense, emotions, and a unique blend of legal and romantic elements. Fans eagerly await the film's release on January 19 to witness the riveting tale unfold on the big screen.
