Against all odds, Partha Karan, the resilient youth from Bankura's Jangalmahal, has achieved a remarkable feat by clinching the 7th position in the Geological Survey of India Examination conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). Despite facing setbacks, Partha's journey serves as a testament to the adage, "Where there's a will, there's a way!"
In a tale of perseverance and triumph, Partha overcame the toughest and most prestigious examination in the country, the UPSC, securing the 7th rank nationwide. His success resonates joyfully through the jangalmahal of Bankura, embracing the entire community.
Born and raised in the quaint village of Madoshol, Partha Karan's journey began with his parents, Alok Karan and Sandhya Karan, instilling a strong work ethic in him. From the local Sarenga Mahatma Gandhi Memorial University, he pursued his higher secondary education, followed by a Bachelor's in Physics from Kolkata's Scottish Church College. Partha further excelled, obtaining a Ph.D. from IIT Guwahati.
Despite multiple unsuccessful attempts at the Civil Services Examinations, including IAS and IPS, Partha did not lose heart. Undeterred, he redirected his focus towards the Geological Survey of India Examination, where, after rigorous preparation, he managed to reach the interview stage. Though the first attempt did not yield success, he persisted, and in UPSC 2023, he secured the coveted 7th position.
Alok Karan, Partha's father, always emphasised, "Failure is the pillar of success." This philosophy resonated with Partha, who, undeterred by setbacks, continued to strive for excellence. He attributes his resilience and success to this valuable lesson.
