This year brings forth a remarkable occurrence tied to Tulsi Vivah. According to Hindu beliefs, during the Devutthani Ekadashi, Lord Vishnu awakens from his cosmic slumber. Following this, on the Dwadashi tithi, the divine union of Lord Vishnu and Tulsi takes place.

On the 23rd of November, which is today, and tomorrow, the 24th of November, the celestial marriage of Lord Vishnu and Tulsi will be celebrated. Devotees mark this day by organising Tulsi and Shaligram's union in their homes, believing it augments prosperity.

Observing Tulsi Vivah involves a sequence of rituals believed to enhance spiritual and material well-being. Devotees commence by bathing the Tulsi plant and the idol of Lord Vishnu, purifying them. Adorning the Tulsi plant with red sarees, ornaments, and sacred threads resembling a bride, they create a ceremonial atmosphere.

Simultaneously, the idol of Lord Vishnu is dressed in traditional attire. A sacred thread binds Tulsi and Vishnu together, followed by a symbolic application of vermillion and rice, signifying divine blessings. Once the marriage is solemnised, devotees share prasad (holy offerings) among themselves.

It is believed that observing Tulsi Vivah by performing specific rituals brings prosperity and well-being to households. Performing yajnas and reciting prayers to Lord Vishnu and Satyanarayan is considered auspicious. The day concludes with a festive celebration in homes or temples.

This annual event occurs on the Dwadashi tithi of the bright fortnight of Kartik month. The auspicious time for Tulsi Vivah this year is from 11:43 AM to 12:26 PM, and the marriage ceremony should be conducted between 1:54 PM and 2:38 PM.
