Notable changes include trains departing from Kolkata Station and passing through Babughat, Princep Ghat, and Majherhat en route to Namkhana. Additionally, various special trains have been deployed to accommodate the surge in pilgrim numbers.

Complementing train services, the state government has arranged for special government buses to run concurrently with the Ganga Sagar Mela, providing additional transportation options for pilgrims. From January 11 to January 17, these government buses will operate multiple trips throughout the day.

The State Transport Corporation, comprising 275 buses, and the South Bengal State Transport Corporation, with 75 buses, jointly contribute to transporting pilgrims from Babughat and Howrah to the fairground. From early morning until late at night, pilgrims can avail of bus services from these key locations.
