State Government helping in converting the non-agricultural land to agricultural land

Agriculture Minister in the State Assembly shared the information that the West Bengal State Government has converted non-agricultural land into agricultural land to the tune of 54,770. The food production in the state has also seen a rapid rise with the increase in agricultural land. Previously in the year of 2010-11 food production was 1.48 crore tonnes whereas in the year of 2016-17 food production increased to 1.75 crore tonnes.

State government is also distributing seeds of 50-80 varieties of paddy in different districts and also focussing on the production of organic, aromatic rice.
