Smita Shrivastav Sets Guinness World Record For Longest Hair In Uttar Pradesh

In a unique pursuit of beauty, Smita Shrivastav, a 46-year-old resident of Uttar Pradesh, has earned her place in history by achieving the world record for the longest hair, measuring an astonishing 7 feet 9 inches.

What makes Smita's story fascinating is her commitment to growing her hair since the age of 14. Drawing inspiration from her mother and Bollywood actresses renowned for their long hair in the 1980s, Smrita embarked on a journey to break stereotypes associated with cutting hair in Indian society.

In a statement to Guinness World Records, Smita expressed, "In Indian culture, goddesses traditionally had very long hair. In our society, it is considered inauspicious to cut hair, so that is why women used to grow hair. Long hair enhances the beauty of women."

Smita not only achieved this extraordinary feat but also shared her hair care routine on social media, revealing that she washes her hair twice a week and lets it air-dry while standing on her bed.

Her video post garnered over 3.9 million views, with more than 20,500 likes and numerous comments.

When asked about her achievement, Smrita humbly attributed it to divine intervention, stating, "God answered my prayers."

Smrita's story not only breaks records but also reflects the cultural significance of long hair in India, showcasing the beauty associated with embracing one's natural attributes.
