Seamless All-Night Bus Service Ensures Smooth Durga Puja Commute in Kolkata!

On this Durga Puja, an all-night bus service will be a blessing for devotees. Say goodbye to worries about commuting to the puja pandals. With eight routes starting from Howrah and Sealdah stations, buses will operate all night long. You can easily tour the major pandals in the city. Both AC and non-AC buses will be available for your convenience.

The Transport Department has revealed that the service will commence from Chaturthi and run from the early morning. It will continue until midnight at 12:00 AM on Dashami. Even though government offices will remain closed, private companies and shops will be open during these two days. Therefore, buses and trams will be in operation from the morning onward, and the service will expand in the afternoon.

Furthermore, from Shashthi to Navami, there will be a night service starting at 10:00 PM, providing enough buses and minibuses on the streets. Transportation Minister Snehashis Chakraborty has emphasised that adequate buses and trams will run all night to ensure a smooth travel experience during the nighttime darshan.

The Transport Department has also confirmed that Kolkata will see an abundance of government buses, and more than a thousand of them will ply the streets during the Durga Puja festivities. This massive deployment aims to alleviate the traffic situation and facilitate easy commuting for all visitors.

In addition, the underground metro will remain open throughout the night, from Saptami to Navami. It's been assured that the roads adjacent to the metro will also be operational, ensuring a hassle-free journey for passengers. Taxis and app-based cabs will be readily available, and you won't face a shortage of transportation options.

Bus operators have reassured us that the all-night bus service during Durga Puja is a regular practice, and this year will be no different. They have explained that the government has enforced a no-entry rule on specific roads, allowing only authorised buses to ply the routes. This measure was taken to streamline traffic flow during the festival.

Not to forget, even government buses have dressed up for the occasion with new blue-and-white paint. Passengers can board these freshly adorned government buses, making their journey more vibrant and festive.

The transport minister mentioned that the changes are not only limited to the new look but also include addressing the issues faced by passengers in the past. All these improvements aim to provide a seamless and comfortable experience for commuters during the Durga Puja celebrations.

This Durga Puja, devotees and tourists can rejoice as the all-night bus service will ensure a smooth and convenient journey to the pandals, making the festival even more enjoyable and hassle-free.
