The Renault-Nissan Alliance has unveiled previews of four new SUVs poised for imminent arrival. The lineup includes two C-segment 5-seat SUVs and two 7-seat variants, each from Renault and Nissan. Built on the advanced CMF-B platform, the same foundation as the acclaimed Duster, these SUVs promise cutting-edge performance and innovation.
While the Duster sadly bids adieu to the Indian market, the upcoming SUVs are expected to fill the void with their anticipated launch in 2025.
Targeting five-seater SUVs will likely go up against the Kia Seltos, Hyundai Creta, Skoda Kushaq, Volkswagen Taigun, and the MG Astor. On the other hand the seven-seater SUVs will likely go up against the Kia Carens, Hundai, Alcazar, Mahindra XUV 700 and Tata Safari, which are gearing up for fierce competition.
March 27 marked a historic milestone as Jean-Dominique Senard, Chairman of Alliance, Luca De Meo, CEO of Renault Group, and Makoto Uchida, Director, Representative Executive Officer, President, and CEO of Nissan, convened at the Renault-Nissan plant in Oragadam, Chennai. The occasion not only celebrated the unveiling but also commemorated 25 years of the Renault-Nissan Alliance.
The Oragadam plant stands as a testament to the Alliance's prowess, having churned out over 2.7 million cars, with a staggering 1.2 million exported to over 100 destinations. Additionally, the facility boasts around 4.4 million powertrains produced, solidifying its status as a manufacturing powerhouse.
Looking ahead, the Renault-Nissan Alliance sets its sights on India as a pivotal export hub. With plans to elevate the nation as a '360-degree hub', the Alliance aims to bolster Renault and Nissan's global ambitions.
A key initiative includes the development of the Renault Nissan Technology & Business Centre India (RNTBCI) into a premier centre for digital, critical intelligence, and connectivity, paving the way for a transformative future.
