Rajiv Kumar gets additional charges apart from CID Chief

The West Bengal Government has assigned former Calcutta police commissioner and current chief of Criminal Investigation Department (CID) Rajiv Kumar additional charges of the state directorate of economic offences and the Kolkata police’s special task force (STF). Rajiv Kumar is a 1989 batch IPS Officer who has held the office of Commissioner of Police of Kolkata from May 21, 2016 to February 19, 2019. On February 19, he was appointed the additional director general of police and inspector general of police in the CID. Kumar will now also look after the state directorate of economic offences and the Kolkata police’s special task force. The state directorate of economic offences investigates financial and economic scams as well as major tax evasion cases of the state. The special task force (STF) of the Kolkata Police on the other hand is a specialised department to deal with terror activities taking place in the state. The order of additional charges for IPS Rajiv Kumar was issued by the West Bengal Home Department.
