Prashant Kumar Prasad: Crafting Miniature Deities With Devotion Leaving Everyone In Awe!

Prashant Kumar Prasad, a 23-year-old resident of Hooghly, stands out for his remarkable artistic talent. His creations are not towering statues but, in fact, delicate miniature sculptures. Whether it's Durga, Lakshmi, Kali, or Shiva, he painstakingly sculpts these deities, leaving everyone in awe. This form of art is often described as 'miniature art.'

However, Prashant's artistic talents are not his only claim to fame. By day, he diligently works in a government office in Rishra. The pressures of his office job are alleviated by his creative pursuits in the evenings when he returns home to craft these intricate sculptures.

The entire Prasad family takes immense pride in their son's artistic endeavours, hoping that his creations will someday be recognised on a global scale. Hailing from a modest background in Hooghly's Kanagar, the Prasad family has supported Prashant's love for art since his early years.

Prashant's passion for art began when he was just a child. His desire to create small figurines led him down this artistic path. Today, he has crafted miniatures of Goddess Durga, Lakshmi, Shiva, and Kali, all beautifully detailed and reflective of his dedication.

It is heartening to note that Prashant's petite Durga, only a foot tall, is now headed to Kolkata, the cultural capital of West Bengal. His devotion to detail is evident in his five-inch-tall Lakshmi and nine-inch-tall Kali, showcasing his versatile skills.

From sculpting to embellishing and even hand-painting, Prashant's work is a testament to his craftsmanship. Not only does he create the miniatures, but he also takes on the responsibility of adorning them with vibrant colours and intricate detailing.

Besides his artistic pursuits, Prashant holds a job in a private office, diligently working to support his family. His father is a toto driver, and his mother manages the household. They have always encouraged their son's creative pursuits.

Prashant's father shared his perspective on his son's journey, saying, "From childhood, Prashant showed an inclination towards art. Since 2019, his small-scale artwork has gained recognition. We have always encouraged him to excel in his craft. I am proud to see my son devoted to his art. In the days to come, we hope his artistic work will become known to all."

Prashant's dedication to creating these intricate miniatures during his precious free hours is a testament to his love for art and devotion to his cultural heritage. His creations continue to captivate the hearts of those who admire his 'miniature art' and celebrate the rich traditions of West Bengal.
