After Soumitra Chatterjee’s Chol Kuntal here comes another by him along with Prasenjit Chatterjee. Atanu Ghosh’s last release ‘Abby Sen’ , which was a comedy, Ghosh this time directly hits the sentimental chords of the audience by showing the relationship between a son and his 84year old father who was once upon a time a history professor but now suffers from neurological disorders including dementia and cognitive dysfunction.
The movie is all about the emotional bond between the 84year old father who is the lead protagonist and his middle aged son who himself is shown to be passing through a crucial stage in his life with his personal relationship issues. The movie is a beautiful portrayal of reality which the present generation can actually relate to. The need for companionship and the duties and responsibilities are perfectly shown in the film.
Both the Chatterjee’s have made the film even more worth a watch. Director Atanu Ghosh has successfully conveyed his message to the present generation. The duo drama is fantastically put into frame and the music compliments each part of the film till the end.
