Kolkata Metro Gets Green Light To Erect Pillar For The New Garia-Airport Metro Line Finally, After Police Approval!

After prolonged negotiations between the Kolkata Police and the metro authorities, the green signal has finally been given to kickstart the construction of a crucial pillar for the New Garia-Airport Metro line at the Chingrighata Bridge stretch.

Recent developments indicate that the construction process for pillar 319 of the New Garia-Airport Metro line, situated on the heavily trafficked Chingrighata Road, is set to commence. Initially, concerns loomed over how vehicular movement would be managed in the bustling Chingrighata area, causing delays in initiating the pillar construction. However, following the closure of the road from February 22nd to 26th for assessment, the Kolkata Police took note of the situation's gravity.

Subsequently, on Wednesday, Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL), the agency responsible for metro construction, received the much-awaited approval from the Kolkata Police to begin work on the pillar. The primary target is to complete the construction within a span of 75 days, as directed by Mr. P. Uday Kumar Reddy, the General Manager of Kolkata Metro Rail Corporation.

Despite previous obstacles, including the removal of an old traffic guard post in Beleghata, hindering the pillar's construction, efforts are now focused on expediting the process. While progress has been made in certain sections like Nicco Park and Salt Lake, the pivotal pillar awaited completion, stalling progress in the Chingrighata vicinity.

With the police clearance secured, the metro authorities are optimistic about accelerating the construction process. This development marks a significant step forward in the completion of the New Garia-Airport Metro line, promising enhanced connectivity for Kolkata's residents.
