Do you know that you cannot just consider reading as a habit, but it is, in fact, an art? Do you love with the smell of the pages of books or prefer juggling with words? Do you feel the need to enhance your reading skills? Then try adding these few tricks to your repertoire.

There are four types of reading styles that all of us are aware of:

Intensive reading: Most of the students prefer this reading style. They go through each of the lines carefully to mug up or understand in order to get detailed information on it. This is, in fact, the cornerstone for structuring knowledge. Moreover, it is the key to expanding your horizons and instigates you to go beyond the pages of your textbook.

Extensive reading: If reading is a hobby for you, then this type of reading is for you. There is no time limit for this type of reading. The extensive reading type will help you enrich your vocabulary and the most important aspect is it will help you assimilate words faster than any other person.

‘Glance at’ reading: When you are late and have no time, then this type of reading helps. ‘Glance at’ reading will offer you the gist of the content and help you to go through the entire paragraph in a very short span of time. If you are borrowing any book from the library, then also you can try this as you have very less time.

Scan Reading: This type of reading will help you go through the main or the principal contents of the material. If you just want to focus on the important parts of the text, then extensive reading is your best bet. This will definitely help you to sort out the chosen few words from the ocean.
