Goutam Ghose and Anindya Banerjee launched the Music and Poster of ‘Ami Rajneeti Chai Naa’

Tollywood Actor Anindya Banerjee and eminent filkmaker Goutam Ghose launched the audio and poster of Director Simanta Chatterjee’s upcoming movie ‘Ami Rajneeti Chai Naa’, last night at One Way Café and Banquets near Chowringhee in Kolkata.

The movie is about a lady Swapna (Geetasree Roy) who stays in a village called Duramari. Her father Naityananda Chakraborty is the panchayat pradhan of the village. She likes to maintain an ordinary life and stays away from politics.

Tutsa Mondal (Anindya Banerjee) gets selected as a party candidate as a representative for the scheduled caste and wins. Swapna then gets married to Tutsa in order to further the political interest of her father. It remains to be seen if Swapna is happy in future with politics as part and parcel of her life. Well…the title of the movie seems to suggest otherwise.

Goutam Ghose said that he is looking forward to watching the film while thanking Simanta Chaterjee for being involved in Ghose’s earlier projects and congratulated Simanta for making this film.

On a lighter vein, Ghose then quoted the title of the film ‘Ami Rajneeti Chai Naa’ and asked “if it is possible to imagine a utopian society without politics even if we don’t want it as part of our lives”. While his witty remarks left everyone in splits, it also left everyone pondering if politics is a necessary evil or is it necessarily evil…Ghose further cited the example of the politics involved around the release of Padmaavat and welcomed the latest Supreme Court verdict on the same.

When asked for his thoughts on the success of ‘Ami Rajneeti Chai Naa’, Ghose said “Everyone expects their movies to do well; while some movies do well, few others do not. It is a speculative game”.
