Director Srijit Mukherji Brings A Python Home As A Pet! Do You Know What She Eats?

Renowned Tollywood director Srijit Mukherji, known for his innovative filmmaking, has stirred curiosity by welcoming an unusual guest into his home.

Just a few days ago, amidst his hectic schedule, Srijit extended hospitality to a new guest at his residence. Can you guess who the visitor is? Srijit has brought home a five-month-old python named Ulupi. This fascination with snakes isn't new for Srijit; he has long held a passion for serpent rearing. Now, he's finally living out that passion with Ulupi.

However, the revelation of Ulupi's dietary preferences raised eyebrows. Triggered by a social media post featuring Ulupi on International Women's Day, curious netizens questioned what the python loves to eat. This led Srijit to share Ulupi's diet plan.

In response to the query, Srijit disclosed, "A rat every seven days." This unexpected response left many bewildered, considering that a five-month-old python typically feeds just once a week. The mystery deepened when Srijit refrained from posting any pictures of Ulupi, despite the eager anticipation among his followers. His explanation? He prefers not to share images of his "child."

Interestingly, Srijit's choice of name for the python raises questions. Why Ulupi? It's said to be inspired by a character from the Mahabharata. According to the mythological tale, Ulupi was a Naga princess who married Arjuna during his exile in the forest. Drawing from this legend, Srijit affectionately refers to his python as Ulupi.

Meanwhile, amidst his serpent adventures, Srijit remains busy with numerous film projects. His upcoming release, "Oti Uttam," featuring powerhouse performances by Anindya Sen Gupta and Roshni Bhattacharya, is set to hit screens on March 22nd.

Following that, "Tekka" is on the horizon, with Srijit recently wrapping up shooting for the film. Notably, this marks his directorial debut with the iconic Dev-Rukmini pair. Scheduled for release during the 2024 Puja festivities, the film promises to be a treat for audiences.

Currently, Srijit is engrossed in shooting for a project, 'Bhusorgo Kashmir'.
