As Dengue is Spreading Rapidly, What measures Should You Take To Stay Safe ?

Recently, Dengue has increased not only in Kolkata but has spread rapidly in the districts of West Bengal. Stagnant Water is the main breeding ground for malaria and dengue mosquitoes.

According to the Health Department's information, inspections have been started across the state since Saturday to check the dengue situation. Already, six teams have visited different districts of South Bengal and submitted their reports.

What symptoms of dengue will make you go to the hospital?

It has been informed from various government hospitals in the district that,

  • If the body is weak,
  • Dizziness
  • Restlessness
  • unconsciousness

These are the main symptoms; there are also other symptoms.

  • Bleeding
  • Calcite
  • Difficulty breathing
  • Vomiting
  • Abdominal pain
  • Less urination

Only then should you go to the hospital if you experience these symptoms.

 Which district will be given extra attention by the Health Department?

It is reported that additional attention is being paid to some places in North 24 Parganas, South 24 Parganas, Howrah, Hooghly, Nadia, and Birbhum. According to health department sources, many people have been infected with dengue in the Palashdiha area of Durgapur in a short period of time. In the last six days, 23 people have been infected with dengue in that area. A special team of the health department has visited the area, and the assistant chief health officer of the district has been asked to give a daily report on the dengue situation.

On the other hand, the health department has also kept an eye on the dengue situation in Ranaghat. A team has also been sent there.

The number of dengue cases is increasing daily in Ward No. 32 of Durgapur. According to the district health department, the number of infected people has exceeded 50 in the Palashdiha area of that ward as of Monday. Apart from Nadia, many patients from North 24 Parganas, Hooghly, and even Murshidabad districts come to JNM Hospital in Kalyani.

According to the state health department, in the last few days, 29 people have been admitted with dengue and about 70 people with fever. Experts suggest extra caution  be given in these dengue situations. The number of hospitalisations is increasing every day.

Doctors advise that it is very important not to leave a fever and get all the blood tests done. Then, in most cases, it will be possible to cure the affected people at home.
