Kolkata finally gets its new police station on 9th January 2018 bifurcating the already existing Lake police station. The inauguration ceremony was held on 9th January morning in the graceful presence of the commissioner of Police Shri Rajeev Kumar and the deputy commissioner of Police Shri Kalyan Mukhopadhyay along with officer in charge of Rabindra Sarobar police station, Shri Jayanta Mukherjee. It becomes the newest police station with updated arrangements and set up in the city of joy, Kolkata
The thought and discussion of forming a new police station by apportioning Lake police station was going on for a pretty long time. It was in fact becoming quite difficult for a single police station to control such a large area. It used to take at least around 15 to 20 minutes to reach the northernmost corner of the police station area.
Hopefully it will now become easier for the entire police administration sector to provide faster and better service to the people of the area.
