Citroën Basalt Coupe SUV: Citroën Basalt Testing Revealed, What's New in This Coupe SUV?

Citroën is set to introduce its coupe SUV to the Indian market, following the trend set by Tata Motors with its Coupe SUV Curve. Recent images of this car's testing phase have surfaced, showcasing its design and features.

This model, based on the Basalt vision, aims to bring versatility to India's highly competitive compact SUV segment. The design is inspired by the Basalt Vision concept, promising a unique appearance. The latest testing model, without camouflage, has been revealed to the public. In the video, the car resembles the Citroën C3 Aircross, but with a coupe-style sloping roofline. All features will be available in high-spec trim.

Reports suggest that the special engineering sample lacks alloy wheels and projector LED headlights, as seen in the Basalt Vision. Additionally, turn indicators are integrated into the ORVMs.

The Citroën C3 Aircross SUV features 17-inch Cloverleaf-design alloy wheels. Therefore, it is expected that the basalt portfolio will include similar wheels. Moreover, alloy wheels might be an option.

Furthermore, future facelifts may include features from the C3 Aircross, such as LED projector headlights, automatic climate control, auto-dimming IRVM, rain-sensing wipers, automatic headlights, keyless entry, push-button start, adjustable seats, and more.

Citroën has also pledged enhanced safety across its upcoming models. Therefore, it is anticipated that this model will come standard with six airbags, ABS, ISOFIX mounts, and seatbelt reminders.

Regarding the powertrain, a 1.2-liter, three-cylinder petrol engine is expected, alongside a turbocharged variant producing 110 PS power and 190 Nm torque.

The launch is anticipated toward the end of 2024.
