The 77th Cannes Film Festival Commences! A Sneak Preview Of Indian Films To Be Presented

The Cannes Film Festival, one of the most prestigious and biggest film festivals in the entertainment world, has commenced its 77th edition. This annual festival, known as 'The Cannes Film Festival,' began on May 14th, i.e., today, in South France and will run until May 25th.

This year's lineup features a selection of noteworthy Indian films.

Among them, Payal Kapadia's 'All We Imagine As Light' and Shyam Benegal's 'Manthan' stand out. 'All We Imagine As Light' portrays the life of a nurse named Divyaprabha in Mumbai, who receives a surprising gift from her husband, unravelling a captivating tale. On the other hand, 'Manthan,' originally released in 1976, makes a special appearance at the festival.

Adding to the mix is the British-Indian film 'Santosh,' which will grace the Cannes Festival screens. The film narrates the story of a woman who, after her husband's demise, finds employment in the police force and becomes entangled in investigating a young girl's assault and murder. Directed by Surya, 'Santosh' delves into the complexities of life.

Furthermore, the festival will showcase 'Sunflowers Were The First Ones To Know,' a 16-minute short film. This poignant short story revolves around the life experiences of an elderly woman, offering a glimpse into her journey.

As the festival commences, audiences can expect a captivating cinematic experience, spanning cultures and narratives.
