Even though there are multiplexes and single screens, watching Bengali cinema at Nandan is a unique experience. Nandan still holds a special place in the hearts of many cinephiles. It offers a different cinematic vibe that sets it apart.

We've got some good news too: Nandan has been undergoing renovations since October 7th. The work is set to conclude by tomorrow, meaning the curtains will rise on the movies soon. It's worth noting that they've scheduled to keep the hall closed only on Dashami, the 10th day of the festival.

This Pujo season, it's not just about the traditional 'Chaturbhuja' (four-armed) Durga but also about the exciting clash of films.

Today, on Tuesday, Koel Mallick's 'Jongole Matin Masi' hits theatres, directed by Arindam Seal.

Following that, on October 19, three more movies will grace the big screen together. 'Roktabeej,' directed by Nandita Roy and Shiboprosad Mukherjee, is based on the 2014 Bardhaman explosion incident. The film stars Victor Banerjee, Abir Chatterjee, and Mimi Chakraborty in key roles.

On the other hand, Srijit Mukherjee's 'Dawshom Awbotar' is poised for a head-to-head battle. This movie features Prosenjit Chatterjee, Anirban Bhattacharya, Jisshu Sengupta, and Jaya Ahsan.

On the flip side, 'Bagha Jatin' is all set to lead the pack, bringing superstar Dev in the role of freedom fighter Jatindranath Mukherjee.

As for when these movies will be screened at Nandan, that's still under wraps. The battle for supremacy is on, and who emerges victorious will be a story for another day.
