Ahare Mon: A nor’wester

Ahare Mon is a heart-warming mix of inter-connected love stories. But it would be wrong to put the film under the genre of romance alone. It is a colourful portrait of hope, beautifully crafted by the director.

With a cast studded with talented stars, this is one of those movies which are irrevocably flawless.  From the cinematography to direction, to the score and script, everything is of top-notch precision.

The film has four storylines which run parallel to each other, coming together in the end with a satisfying twist. The twists have become kind of like a norm in most films these days, often for no relevant reason other than to have one. But Pratim D. Gupta knows what he wants from the start, so when the ‘twist’ arrives, it is very raw and relatable and the audience never sees it coming.

The music and background score by Neel Dutt is well-crafted and mesmerizing. The song Monta Ahare, written by Srijit Mukherji, is perfect in its application and helps to carry forward the four stories.
