Mamata Banerjee's visit began with her arrival in Dubai from Barcelona, where she attended the Dubai Business Summit on Friday. Prominent industry leaders, including Harsh Neotia and Sanjiv Goenka, were also in attendance, along with local business magnates.

Before her Dubai trip, during a gathering at a trade summit in Spain, Mamata Banerjee made a strong appeal for investments in West Bengal, using Bengali for her message. She highlighted the state's progress in terms of infrastructure, with helicopter services, 26 stations, and 100 industrial parks already established.

She further emphasised the importance of the National Corridor, which connects Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal, Myanmar, and a portion of Southeast Asia, and West Bengal's inclusion of 99% of its citizens in social security programmes, ensuring inclusivity for all communities and regions within the state.

In a remarkable gesture, Mamata Banerjee extended her visit to connect with the Indian diaspora, underscoring her commitment to the people's homeland, regardless of where they reside. She encouraged them to celebrate "Paschim Banga Day" as a way to stay connected with their roots and expressed her eagerness to welcome them back anytime.

Mamata Banerjee's three-day stay in Barcelona for the Indian diaspora event, followed by her participation in the trade summit, paved the way for her diplomatic mission to Dubai. Her efforts aim to foster stronger economic ties between West Bengal and global business hubs like Dubai, showcasing the state's burgeoning industrial landscape and its commitment to inclusivity.

As she continues her diplomatic engagements, Mamata Banerjee's endeavours underscore West Bengal's aspirations to play a pivotal role in international trade and commerce.
