Reshmi Mitra set to direct Shishir Bhaduri’s biopic 'Borobabu'

Reshmi Mitra is set to direct the biopic 'Borobabu' based on the life of veteran actor and theatre artist Shishir Bhaduri, with Sujan Mukhopadhyay taking on the lead role. The film also casts actors Sudipta Chakraborty, Payal Sarkar and Supratim Roy among others. Ujjwal Chatterjee is working on the screenplay and dialogues, while Bickram Ghosh is in charge of music direction. During a press conference held recently for the film, Sujan Mukhopadhyay expressed that this role is one of his most significant achievements in his acting career. Sudipta Chakraborty will play the character of Prabhadevi, who was the heroine of most of Bhaduri's successful stage plays.

Reshmi Mitra, who has directed ten films prior to this film, considers Bhaduri's life to be poetic and full of colour, depicting his tension, sadness, depression and various relationships. The film includes a drama song from Shishir Bhaduri's era sung by noted singer Iman Chakraborty along with some Rabindra Sangeet tracks.

The team of ‘Borobabu’ is both excited and hopeful about the film, and movie lovers and theatre lovers are expected to enjoy it!
