Debaditya Chowdhury’s brainchild ‘Chowman’!

Bengalis have a large appetite when it comes to Chinese food and it is easily available in various places. Kolkata’s iconic Chinese combos include Fried Rice and Chili Chicken or Noodles and Chili Fish! ‘Chowman’ is one such place in the city where people go to fulfill their taste buds when it comes to the Chinese cuisine. 'Chowman' has conquered the heart of this city with Chinese food. DebadityaChowdhury, the founder and owner of 'Chowman' started his journey from a small outlet in Golf Green, Kolkata around 12 years ago. But now they have crossed the boundaries of Kolkata and Bengal, and opened their outlets in Delhi and Bangalore.

Recently Mr. Chowdhury interacted with Jiyo Bangla and shared his journey of setting up ‘Chowman’ and making it a brand. He shared that he was initially a musician and a member of the popular band 'Lokkhichhara' and during that phase he had travelled a lot, especially aboard and had the experience of eating food from different countries. This had put a spark into his mind of opening a restaurant. He commented that the desire to bring something new to the Chinese cuisine is what has made ‘Chowman’ one of the most popular Chinese restaurants in East India today.
