According to Himika, our skin undergoes a lot of stress and damage throughout the day, making nighttime skincare essential. While we may cleanse our skin during the day, the nighttime routine allows for uninterrupted hours of care, providing ample time for the skin to absorb nourishment and repair itself.

So, what does a nighttime skincare routine entail? Himika suggests starting with thorough cleansing, a crucial step to rid the skin of impurities accumulated during the day. Following cleansing, toning and moisturising come into play, ensuring the skin is hydrated and rejuvenated.

However, beyond skincare products, Himika emphasises the importance of adequate sleep and hydration. Sleep allows the skin to regenerate and heal, while excessive phone usage before bedtime, with its harmful radiation, should be avoided.

For those with sensitive skin, Himika recommends natural remedies such as besan (gram flour), potato, tomato, Ganga mati (clay from the Ganges), or gentle baby products. She advises against using harsh external products, especially for young skin.

Himika also stresses the significance of tailoring skincare routines based on individual skin types. For oily skin, she suggests using Ganga mati followed by sandalwood paste, while those with dry skin can benefit from gentle moisturisers.
