World Hepatitis Day

World Hepatitis Day is celebrated every year on the 28th of July so as to create global awareness. This day looks to encouraging the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of the disease so that people can live a longer and a healthier life. Hepatitis has many types namely, A,B,C,D and E. Every year it affects 1.4 million people, fatally, in case of many. It is the eighth official global public health campaign organised by the World Health Organisation. The first global public health campaign was organised on the 1st of October.

During the 63rd World Health Assembly in May 2010, the date of the World Hepatitis Day was changed to July 28th after it received global endorsement. It has since become the primary focus of national and international awareness-raising efforts.
