What happened to MS Dhoni? Why is he going to get admitted after winning the first position in IPL 2023? After leading Chennai Super Kings (CSK) to their ‘Fifth Title’ in IPL 2023, now it's time for some rest for Mahi as he is seeking medical advice and likely to undergo knee surgery.
Throughout the IPL 2023 match, MS Dhoni has been dealing with his knee problem. It was seen that he was having problems batting, and that is why he did not play many innings in this tournament. Even CSK’s batting coach, Michael Hussey, confirmed the knee problem he was facing during the matches. He was told to keep wickets and bat lower. Dhoni managed only 104 runs in 16 matches, but he struck at close to 180, hitting 10 sixes throughout the campaign.
Kasi Viswanathan told the PTI news agency that "yes, it is true that Dhoni will be taking medical advice for his left knee injury and accordingly decide. If surgery is advised, it can only be ascertained after reports come out; it will be completely his call."
During IPL 2023, Dhoni took 4 months to get ready for this tournament.
MS Dhoni led CSK to their ‘Fifth IPL Trophy" against the defending Gujrat Titans (GT). CSK batters displayed unparalleled resilience in the rain-spoiled match, and finally, Ravindra Jadeja smashed the winning four to take the game home. With the win, everyone felt that it was the best time for Dhoni to announce his retirement, but the CSK skipper said that he is not done yet. Though he took retirement three years ago from international tournaments, he told me that he wants to play once again as a CSK skipper in the IPL 2024.
The 2024 IPL auction will be held in December, and he will be able to play only if he recovers by then. His chances of playing in next year's IPL depend on his recovery. He also said that he would try to have a fast recovery.
As the IPL is over, Dhoni wants to focus on his health condition now. It has been heard that Dhoni is scheduled to be admitted to Kokilaben Hospital in Mumbai next week.
The fans and the CSK franchise will be hoping for a speedy recovery for Dhoni.
