West Bengal and British Council to Sign MoU

Hon’ble chief minister of West Bengal has always kept her vision business oriented and for that, a new initiative has already been taken. The state government and British Council will be signing a Memorandum of Understanding in order to promote the educational and cultural developments of the state.

She said in a Facebook post, "I am happy to share with all of you that British Council and Government of West Bengal are going to sign an MoU to promote cultural, educational and skill development exchanges between Britain and Bengal."

The alliance includes river festival in Kolkata, Durga Puja during the Thames festival, cultural exchanges between Bengal and Britain, English communication, skill development and finally enhancement of employment among the youth.

Mamata Banerjee raised these discussions during her last visit to Britain. Right after the discussion, Global Deputy Chairperson of British Council and Baroness Usha Prashar, Member of the House of Lords visited Kolkata to take the initiative forward.
