WBJEE board notification

After the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination (WBJEE) board chairman announced on June 20 when the counselling for those who successfully went through the WBJEE would begin, a new notification by the board elaborated on the procedure.

The process will begin on June 25 and will have to be concluded by July 20. Counselling will be done in the usual three-stages. The board has however, done away with mop up counselling as well as mock counselling provisions this year. The notification said that online registration, fee payment and generation of password would be done between June 25 and 29. Candidates will fill in their choices of colleges online, between June 25 and 30. The choice locking deadline would be between June 29 and 30. Authorities will collect the data on June 30.

The first list of admissions will be released on July 3 and from July 4 to 7 have been marked as the time to deposit provisional fees and verification of credentials by candidates at reporting centres.

The second list of candidates will be issued on July 9 and later a third list will also be released following which candidates will have to follow the same procedure of submitting fees and credential verification.

The entire process would need to be completed by July 20. Although it has not been said officially, sources at the JEE board said that if it was found out that there are vacant seats at the end of the deadline, those would be filled up in a decentralised manner. In that case, colleges and universities authorities would invite application on their own.
