‘Victoria-Albert’ collaborates to unravel Company Paintings

The beautiful and the fascinating story of ‘Company school Paintings’ of Indian flora and fauna which was the leading factor for foundation of Indian zoology and botany studies. The Victoria Memorial hall joined hands with the Royal Albert memorial Museum in Exeter and the University of Exeter to explore all these paintings. The collaboration which started informally will find a solid formal platform by signing a MoU on November 15 by VMH curator Jayanta Sengupta and University of Exeter VC Sir Steve Smith. This is the first direct collaboration between a foreign institution and VMH . Networks of patrons, painters, natural scientists will be explored in early stages of this exploration.
