Thundershower hits South Bengal

The districts of South Bengal were hit by thundershowers following which strong winds lashed several parts of the districts. The city of Kolkata too was hit by the thundershower along with strong winds which took a toll on the traffic flow of the city. The Alipore Meteorological Centre has predicted the same kind of thundershower and strong winds to hit the North Bengal districts in the next 48 hours. South Bengal districts too are yet to receive moderate rainfall over the next two days. The deputy director general of Regional Meteorological Centre, Sanjib Bandyopadhyay said that the thundershowers along with gusty winds were taking place due to cyclonic circulations. He also said that occasional thunderstorms and lightning are to take place in various parts of Bengal in April and May because of the Nor'wester. The temperature, however, is expected to remain normal in the South Bengal districts though it may fluctuate a bit due to rain, mostly in the evening. The weather experts have reported that these thunderstorms are occurring as a result of the Nor'wester which is blowing in north-west direction.
