“This movie deals with a socio-political issue”: Sreela Majumdar

Director Aniket Chattopadhay’s ‘Shankar Mudi’ starring Kaushik Ganguly, Sreela Majumdar, Saswata Chatterjee, Biswanath Basu, Kanchan Mullick, Jissu Sengupta, and Anjan Dutta deals with how shopping malls are slowly but steadily taking over small grocery shops.

The event was graced by Aniket Chatterjee, Kaushik Ganguly, and the star casts. The director carefully portrayed globalization and how it is affecting us every day. The film revolves around a small grocery shop and somehow it became an integral part of the neighborhood. The premiere was held at Priya Cinema Hall, near Deshopriyo Park. The music and songs by Kabir Suman are very topical and help move the strong forward. Speaking with Jiyo Bangla, Sreela Mazumdar said, “It’s a realistic movie and I am sure this movie will showcase the reality of 21st century.”  Apart from the serious story of the movie, there is the comic relief in the form of Saswata and Kanchan Mullick too. Even Jisshu Sengupta and Anjan Dutta played an integral part in the film.

Previously, while conversing with the director Aniket Chattopadhyay said, “Shankar Mudi is a socio-political film and it deals with globalization and how it is affecting us every single day. We all are losing out the para culture. Things are not the same for sure.”
