The fruitful land of Mandarin

Bankura district serves proudly as one of the best tourist place in West Bengal. Famous for its art and architecture, this place is blessed with natural hills, rivers and ancient temples which symbolises the culture and heritage of Bankura. Along with the tourist attraction, Bankura is also well known for its development in the field of agriculture.

The land of Bankura was considered to be infertile and was proven to be unsuitable for the growth of any crops. The initiative of “Mission Bankura” was started by the civilians and the local government body to work on the barren lands to make them fruitful.

A programme of soiling was started by NGERA with the alliance of the agricultural expertise to cultivate cash crops like orange, mango and grapes in Bankura. In an interview, the MLA of Bankura, Shampa Daripa revealed that though the land of Bankura is not fertile, but it is producing effective results after the soiling process and yielding famous fruits. She also mentioned that they have started to export the fruits to foreign countries for gaining revenue which helped in changing the nourishments of the common people and the farmers.
