Take a day out to visit the Mayur Mahal

Did you know there is an exclusive Peacock Sanctuary just 4kms from Rajhat, near Chinsura, Hoogly district? Well, yes, to surprise you, there actually exists something called the ‘Mayur Mahal’, where you get to see dozens of peacocks together. Now isn’t that wonderful?

Local villagers of Gandhi Gram, Choutara and Shaheb Bagan have come together and taken the initiative of conserving our National bird. The place even serves as a picnic spot for tourists. The place has ample of bamboo trees and mango orchards.

The place where the peacocks stay is a place between the Kunti and Saraswati rivers. The place is a real visual pleasure.

How to Reach: Trains are available from Howrah as well as Shealdah. From Bandel station, you can take a rickshaw to your desired destination or simply drive to the place by car.

Fooding and Lodging: There is no need for lodging as the place is a picnic spot. Food is easily available, as you will get plenty of dhabas on both sides of the road.
