Ahead of the election results, Bollywood made a significant announcement. This time, the big screen will witness the biopic of Sukumar Sen, the country's first Chief Election Commissioner. It has been revealed that Siddharth Roy Kapur, in collaboration with Trickitainment Media, is producing the film.
Siddharth officially announced the movie on Monday. According to him, Sukumar Sen's biopic is unique, even though there have been other Bollywood biopic films about singers and athletes. Not only is Sukumar Sen a national icon, but he also played a key role in creating democracy in the nation. Therefore, Siddharth says that everyone should be aware of his life story. Sukumar Sen played a pivotal role in the political landscape of the country as the country navigated it while holding his hand. So it is thought to be important to share his story.
Moreover, according to Siddharth, the portrayal of Sukumar Sen in this biopic remains undecided. However, actors like Ayushmann Khurrana and Rajkummar Rao are under consideration. Yet, final decisions are pending.
He further said that if actor selection goes smoothly, shooting for the movie will commence in September this year. Sukumar Sen's grandsons, Sanjib and Debdutta Sen, have sent their best wishes to the producers for their work on the biopic about their grandfather.
