South Bengal to receive moderate rainfall

The Regional Meteorological Center in Alipore has predicted light to moderate rainfall in several parts of South Bengal. A little bit of scattered rainfall which took place recently has provided this part of Bengal with some relief from the extreme uncomfortable heat that it was experiencing for the last few weeks. According to the prediction of the weather department, more rainfall is expected to occur in South Bengal Districts in the next two days. The coastal areas, however, may receive heavy rainfall for the next 2-3 days. The weather prediction report states that North 24-Parganas, South 24-Parganas, West Midnapore and East Midnapore districts will receive heavy rainfall along with lightning in the next 24 hours. But districts including Burdwan, Birbhum, Nadia, Murshidabad, Bankura, Purulia and Kolkata is expected to receive moderate showers. The Meteorological Department has already issued an alert for the fisherman and warned them not to advance into the sea for the next few days since the it is expected to remain turbulent due to formation of a low-pressure trough over the Bay of Bengal. It may be mentioned that this July was the hottest in comparison to the last five years.
