Singer Pratik Choudhury passed away

Bengali playback singer,55 years old Pratik Choudhury passed away on Tuesday, February 19 after suffering a cardiac arrest. He was rushed to a nearby hospital in Kolkata where he was declared dead.Pratik is a popular Bengali playback singer known for his contemporary Bengali song albums like Mukhosh, Bhusandir Mathe, Ebar Pratik er Pallay and others. He began his career back in 1994 and got his talim from Shri Sheetal Mukherjee, an Indian classical music legend. His career started with the film ‘Patalghar’ where he sung ‘Bhingroho theke ashe taar gola’ under director Debajyoti Mishra, the film later received a national award which got Pratik his basic recognition. Pratik was a Calcutta University graduate who began his career singing jingles. He sung songs for numerous Bengali TV serials and movies. His popular songs are Srimoti, Tritiyo Purush, C/O Cinema, Ekaki Arannye, Jhinchak, All Rounder, Bangla Gaaner Chamak and many more. He is survived by his wife and a son. Musicians of the contemporary Bengali Industry are deeply saddened by his sudden demise.
