Produced by Assorted Motion Pictures and digitally premiered on Zee5 on the occasion of Bengali New Year, Ram Kamal Mukherjee's "Season's Greetings" is a tale of compassion, love, and acceptance. It challenges convention and so-called societal rules that tend to entangle our lives. Ram Kamal Mukherjee is a skilled story teller and his 43 minute rendering of the relationship between mother and daughter is thoroughly engaging. Both mother and daughter are excited to meet each other after a long gap. Romita (Celina) is probably more excited to introduce her mother Suchitra (Lillete Dubey) to her boyfriend, Usmaan (Azhar Khan), and gain acceptance about this inter-religious relationship. What the audience eventually encounters is an even more excited mother waiting to introduce her new and unconventional relationship to her daughter.

The daughter's modern facade is shattered when it comes to accepting change within her own family. The film revolves around relationships and how people have to go an extra mile to gain acceptance from their near and dear ones. Ram Kamal Mukherjee subtly asks the question: Is it really necessary to do so?

Lillete Dubey is as graceful as ever. Her controlled performance and ability to seamlessly blend into the essence of the character is testimony to her skill. Under the adept hands of Ram Kamal Mukherjee, Celina Jaitley turns out to be a revelation. This is her comeback film and she blends into the role naturally and her expressive eyes beg the question: is this the same Celina we have seen earlier? She is a transformed actor now.

The twist in the end is heartwarming, and the usage of Rabindrasangeet in the appropriate places makes the scenes even more mellifluous. All in all, a must watch!
