Really a legend was born who created magic on screen: Sujon Mukherjee

A life with so many interesting stories, larger-than-life attitude, mysteries- all of this sum up to only one name; UTTAM KUMAR.  He will always remain as the most loved, adored, charismatic actor of Bengali cinema even after a century. Not to mention his unforgettable charm set him apart from the crowd. 

To pay a tribute to the legend, a docu-feature is directed by Prabir Roy. ‘Jete Nahi Dibo’, a docu feature on legendary Uttam Kumar was organized at Eastern Metropolitan Club on 6th November. The launch witnessed the presence of Sujan Mukherjee, Amit Bhattacharjee, Mallika Sinha Roy, Piu Paul, Ujjayani Bannerjee, Payal Roy, Priyanka Bhattacharjee, Sudip Sarkar, Swastika Dutta, Shakuntala Barua, Debraj Roy, Dulal Lahiri, Priya Malakar. The story-line of the movie deals with Uttam Kumar’s contribution to the Industry, his personal attachment with the technicians and team along with his versatile acting capabilities. The total length of the film is 116 minutes 04 seconds. Actor Sujan Mukherjee, who portrayed the character of Uttam Kumar, said: “He loved music, he played the harmonium, he composed songs and he had his own production. The audience will find several unknown facts about the legend. I am really glad Prabir da offered me this role. It is a life time opportunity. His life was a magnum opus and each and every Bengalis should know this fact. Really a legend was born who created magic on screen.
