Ram Kamal Mukherjee to adapt his best selling short story into a short feature film

Acclaimed writer and director Ram Kamal Mukherjee has decided to adapt his best-selling fiction “Long Island Ice Tea” into a short length feature film with the title “Broken Frame”. After the success of “Season’s Greetings” and “Cakewalk”, he is set to direct a third short length feature film based on one of the most popular stories from his collection of short stories published in 2017 by Leadstart Publishing.

The film is based on the lives of a happily married couple who have been together happily for many years. And then on the night of their wedding anniversary something occurs which changes their lives forever. Director Ram Kamal Mukherjee had initially wanted to adapt the entire book into a web series and had had detailed discussions with the film fraternity. However, the project didn’t work out and hence he has now decided to adapt one story from the book into a film. According to Ram Kamal, short films are made to depict human relationships. Within a time constraint the characters need to be developed and portrayed keeping the cinematic point of view in mind.

The film will be produced by Aritra Das, Gaurav Daga, and Shailendra Kumar, and will be shot in Kolkata during the monsoons. The cast of the film will be announced soon. Producer Aritra Das remembers fondly how Ram Kamal had been praised by various members of the film fraternity on reading the story when the book was published. The screenplay and dialogue have been penned by Sameer Satija and the teaser poster has been designed by Ekta Bhattacharya.

The cast of the film is eagerly awaited. The maker seems to have a big surprise in store for the audience.
