Rajinikanth in Darjeeling

Superstar Rajinikanth is likely to shoot in Darjeeling for his new film which will be directed by Karthik Subbaraj. It would also be the first time that the superstar would shoot anywhere in Bengal. The production team is now on a recce at Singamari. The director’s team has finalized various logistics at the location and, if all goes well, this would be the biggest-ticket movie shoot at the Queen of the Hills- Darjeeling.

The technical unit, meanwhile visited the Mount Hermon School to hunt for shooting location. The film is likely to go on the floors in June and expected to kick off with the Darjeeling schedule. The project also has Tamil actor-producer Vijay Sethupathi as part of the cast. The storyline is not yet out, but Rajini sir has been quoted as saying he loved the story.

However, several big-budget Bollywood films have been shot in Darjeeling including Jhuk Gaya Aasman (1968), Main Hoon Na (2004), Barfi! (2012) and others.
