Railway Confirm Ticket Benefits: What Benefits You Get When Your Train Ticket Is Confirmed?

It's a rule: no ticket, no train journey. But do you know what benifits come with that ticket? Many are unaware of the extra advantages awaiting passengers with confirmed tickets, often leading to missed opportunities.

According to Senior DCM Nishikant Kumar of Ranchi Railway Division, confirmed train tickets come with a host of benefits beyond just travel. From meals to primary healthcare, passengers can avail themselves of various services.

Firstly, if you're travelling with a confirmed ticket in an IRCTC dormitory, you can utilise the facilities available there. But that's not all; for just ₹150, you can get a bed for 24 hours.

Secondly, on Indian Railways, passengers in AC1, AC2, and AC3 classes receive complimentary bedding and blankets. Even passengers travelling in general by coach can access these amenities upon showing their tickets without any extra charge.

Did you know that medical emergencies on trains are also catered to? In the event that a passenger falls ill, immediate medical assistance can be arranged. Passengers need only inform the onboard RPF personnel or call 139 for assistance. Primary medical aid will be provided promptly. If necessary facilities aren't available on the train, arrangements will be made at the next station by the railway authorities.

Furthermore, for passengers travelling on premium trains like Rajdhani, Duronto, or Shatabdi, if the train is delayed by more than 2 hours, complimentary food is provided from IRCTC's pantry car. In case this service is not rendered, passengers can lodge a complaint by calling 139.

Every railway station offers locker and cloakroom facilities. Passengers with confirmed tickets can utilise these amenities for storing belongings for up to a month, with charges ranging from ₹50 to ₹100 per day.

Even if you're not travelling in AC, you can relax in the non-AC or AC waiting rooms by showing your ticket without any additional charge.

Now that you're aware of these undisclosed benefits, if you find yourself lacking them despite having a confirmed ticket, don't hesitate to dial 139 and register your complaint.
