Prosenjit & Rituparna converted into brand ambassadors to promote Durga Puja

To the surprise of everyone, some of the famous names in T-town have taken up a latest role — as ambassadors for Pujas.

It is well known to everyone that Tollywood celebrities have always added extra glamour to the biggest Pujas. However, this year the starry association is being lifted to an entire new status, with many popular faces turning into brand ambassadors for Pujas.

Dulal Seal from the Puja committee disclosed that in their 74th year, they are looking forward at north Kolkata. He emphasized that not everything they take pride has been saved from the ravages of time. As a result, they have involved veterans like Haranathda. On the other side, PB Chaki is working on the lights.

In contrast, Nitin Patel from Chakraberia Sarbojonin Durgotsav was not interested in divulging the theme right now but revealed that it will be revealed by actress June shortly, who is their brand ambassador. He revealed that they have stressed more on naari shakti this year. June will be promoting the Puja in a lavish manner.

Although Prosenjit Chatterjee is not officially the brand ambassador of Naktala Udayan Sangha, he graced the bheet puja. Bappaditya Dasgupta from the Puja committee claimed that the idea is to include people from their own para. Precisely, Prosenjit Chatterjee's father (Biswajit) had a house in Naktala and they desire to greet the actor on board. In fact, they have reserved a pavilion called Ritu Tarpan too, where they will display a gallery of Rituparno Ghosh's pictures. Moreover, there may be audio-visual presentations.

Veteran actress Rituparna Sengupta, who is the ambassador of Suhrid Sangha, remarked that for her it is an emotional association. She has grown up in this para. She added that everyone here calls her by her nickname Chumki, while she addresses the elders as dada, mashi, kakima.

Particularly, Rituparna believes in being part of a Puja that boasts of a cause. She recollected that last year they had promoted handicrafts and this year, it is going to be extraordinary too.

Regarding the role being different from as a chief guest, she elaborated that it is a 24x7 involvement. She did not participate in this Puja as a guest and there is no commercial facet to it. Specifically, the theme this year is mukti or independence. This has been done, keeping in mind the subject of her upcoming film Mukti.

Remarkably, for the first-time brand ambassador Agnidev Chatterjee, it is a double bonanza. He is part of two Pujas — 21 Pally and Nabalia Para United Club, Barisha. The director, who is confused about his new-found role, commented that Puja committees usher people who are in the news. He thinks this helps them to draw crowds and attract sponsorship. Moreover, media coverage is an added advantage too.
