Picturesque Murti

Murti, situated just on the banks of river Murti is one of the most picturesque villages in North Bengal. The river originates from the Neora Valley National Park and finally meets Jaldhaka.

How to Reach: Murti is located just 60 km from the district of Jalpaiguri and it offers awe-inspiring forest area to the tourists. There are government buses that run from Jalpaiguri to Murti.  Take any North Bengal bound train and reach New Jalpaiguri. From NJP you will get the train to Murti. The nearest station is Chalsa Jn. Bagdogra is the nearest airport to Murti. You can hire cabs from there.

What to Do: If you are visiting Murti, the best time is definitely the winter but you are free to visit the place at any time of the year. The lush deciduous forest of the Murti area will offer you a splendid view and serenity at the same time. Visit the Dooars region and other nearby places. The wild animals, dense forest especially the Gorumara National Park deserves special mention. Don’t miss the panoramic view of Gorumara forest and Chapramari.
