Passport-free Travel

Imagine if you could travel the entire world without a passport. While that is a distant possibility, however, there is one person who has the authority to travel to any part of the world without a passport. Queen Elizabeth II has the privilege of travelling to any part of the world without a passport. Another interesting piece of information is that she has been at the royal office since 6th February 1952, after the death of her father King George VI.

To give you a brief description of the British passport, the cover has a picture of the Royal Arms. Another image of the Arms on the first page has the following message:

'Her Britannic Majesty's Secretary of State requests and requires in the name of Her Majesty all those whom it may concern to allow the bearer to pass freely without let or hindrance and to afford the bearer such assistance and protection as may be necessary.'

Therefore, the message in the British passport allows Queen Elizabeth II to not carry the passport. But, The Duke of Edinburgh and The Prince of Wales, and other folks of the royal family have passports.
