Nissan Unveils Ambitious Plans for India, Set To Launch 16 EVs In Next Years Globally And Boost Exports

In a bold move to fortify its presence in the Indian automotive market, Japanese giant Nissan Motor Co. Ltd. has unveiled its ambitious expansion plan, poised to transform India into a pivotal hub for exports. Under this comprehensive strategy, Nissan aims to introduce three innovative models by fiscal year 2026, emphasising its commitment to driving value and bolstering competitiveness.

Part of Nissan's global business blueprint, this strategic initiative is delineated into mid-term goals spanning fiscal years 2024–2026, with further projections extending to 2030. The cornerstone of this plan revolves around achieving an additional 10 lakh unit sales, surpassing the benchmarks set in fiscal year 2023.

Internationally, Nissan is set to roll out an impressive lineup of 30 new models over the next three years. Of these, 16 will be electrified, catering to the evolving preferences of consumers across different markets where the transition to electric vehicles varies. This comprehensive approach underscores Nissan's commitment to sustainability and innovation.

In line with its commitment to environmental consciousness, Nissan plans to unveil a total of 34 electrified models between fiscal years 2024 and 2030, encompassing diverse market segments. The company projects that electrified vehicles will constitute 40 percent of its global sales by fiscal year 2026, with further growth anticipated, reaching 60 percent by the decade's end.

For the Indian market specifically, Nissan has outlined ambitious plans to introduce three all-new models, positioning itself as a key player in the domestic landscape while concurrently establishing India as a crucial export hub, with an expected output of 1,00,000 units.
