New Milestone Achieved by Mountaineer

Kolkata-based climber Satyarup Siddhanta became the youngest mountaineer to climb seven summits and seven volcanic peaks. He is now on an expedition to the North Pole and at such a time comes great news for the mountaineer. He has made it to the Guinness Book of World Records for his venture. The official pager of the Guinness posted that the youngest person to climb the Seven Summits and the Seven Volcanic Summits is Satyarup Siddhanta, who was 35-years-261-days old when he completed the feat by reaching the summit of Mt Sidley in Antarctica, on 15th January 2019. Satyarup, who is at Longyearbyen in Norway for his North Pole expedition spoke over the phone and shared his excitement and said that he feels proud as an Indian to have achieved this. Satyarup’s explorers’ grand slam will be complete after his North Pole expedition. Satyarup is a techie, motivational speaker, and environmentalist, who was felicitated by the West Bengal Commission for Protection of Child Rights for dedicating his Mount Kilimanjaro climb to the cause of child protection.
