Metro Railway will Save your money Now!

Accessing public transport during the wee hours is no less than a war. In Kolkata, metros are the most convenient public transport of all. On average, each service carries around 2,465 people every day. People force themselves in a metro, and in that rush sometimes accidents happen, which is very unfortunate. Recently, a dreadful accident moved the metro rail officials to take some strict actions. The Metro Railway decided to implement provisions of the Railways Act that imposes a minimum fine of Rs 500 and maximum of Rs 1,000 fine and/or six months in jail, if anyone tries to meddle openly the doors of a metro coach to get on board. Metro railway CPRO Indrani Banerjee says,

“That is the only way to prevent accidents. Staff present at the spot will decide how much punishment the offender deserves.”

Another official revealed that people behave responsibly now because of a vigil at the stations. As the details of the accident are also fresh in their minds and most are not taking any risk. They are very sure that a couple of offenders will be apprehended every day as commuters start returning to their old ways. This new step will help the metro railways to profile passengers and create a database of those more prone to committing such offenses. Metro railway is the easiest commute for the citizens and one of the most comfortable one as well. It is the duty of both the officials and the citizens to work hand in hand for the safety of the people.
