Kolkata boy scores 100% in ISC

A student of La Martiniere for Boys school in Kolkata has scored a whopping 100% in ISC, breaking all previous records in ISC’s 42-year history. Dewang Kumar Agarwal, a science student who resides in Salt Lake has scored 100 out of 100 marks in English, physics, chemistry, computer science and 99 in maths. Along with him, Vibha Swaminathan, a Humanities student from Bangalore too has scored 100 percent in the total percentage. ISC calculates the total percentage on the basis of marks scored in the compulsory subject English and the top three scoring papers. Dewang said, “My studies always come first. I worked very hard for my ISC. I was satisfied after writing the exams in every paper”. When asked about his study hours, he said, “It could just be an hour one day and five hours at a stretch the next day”. He also mentioned that he used to set small goals for himself every day and tried to achieve them which gave him satisfaction about his preparation. Dewang’s favorite subjects were computer science and engineering and he looks forward to studying at any of the IITs. Dewang has already cracked the JEE-Mains and is currently preparing for the JEE-Advanced exam. He also shared his favorite pastimes which include reading story books, listening to music, watching films and swimming. He said, “The last movie I saw was Avengers: Endgame. I read all kinds of books and also go for a swim at least twice a week”.
